An ICS Sanctioned chili competition and fundraiser for
A Child's Place CASA

There will be 10+ cooks competing in 3 categories: Red Chili, Chili Verde (or green chili) where each will be judged on the meat and sauce and cannot contain any beans and Homestyle, where anything goes like beans, pasta, potatoes or rice.
Red Hot in Hancock is a 501(c)(3) hosting a fundraising chili cookoff donating all the profits to A Child's Place CASA, Ltd. who provides advocates for abused and neglected children serving multiple counties in the Ohio Valley. Their volunteers are trained citizens who are appointed by a judge to represent the best interest of abused and neglected children in court and in their daily lives.
You're invited to partiipate in the RedHot in Hancock Chili for Children Cook-Off Saturday, October 12th at the Weirton Event Center and with over over $1,100 in prize money.

Saturday, October 12th cooks will make chili for the public at the Weirton Event center competing for cash prizes and the opportunity to cook in the World’s Championship Chili Cook Off the end of October. The winners of Red Hot in Hancock Chili Cook Off will compete with other winners at the Worlds Championships from around the nation and world for a first prize of $25,000!
“The Chili Cook-Off is becoming a staple event for our community,” says Rhonda Stubbs, Director of A Child's Place CASA, Ltd. “Hundreds of people from the tri-state area come out to enjoy great chili and have a great time, all while making a positive impact for CASA.”
Tina Thompson, Red Hot in Hancock member and vice president, encourages people to attend. “It’s something fun to do during the Fall," she said, “Everyone loves it. It’s a good atmosphere.
Red Hot in Hancock Chili Cook off is free for the public to attend. Guests are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets 2 for $1 and taste any and all of the chili and Salsa. People will be able to browse through the different options, and eat as much chili as they want.
Cooks will gather under the ramada at the Weirton Event Center to cook chili for children. Chili Cooks can enter after paying a $10 membership fee to the International Chili Society, walk-ins the day of the cook-off are also accepted.
The Wheeling Feeling is another ICS chili cook-off held the first weekend in June from 11:30am to 6:00pm at Wheeling's Heritage Port.
